My philosophy for teaching piano is to nurture, above all, a deep, life-long love of music in each student and give them skills that they will be able to use for their entire lives. Of course, I'll help you or your kids do an RCM exam and learn how to sightread, but I also enjoy looking for music outside of any syllabus as I get to know my students individually. I also enjoy helping them play music they like outside of classical music (usually pop or rock music) by ear, or play using pop charts. If it's your thing, I will totally teach you how to play Rihanna. (I WILL make you do some Beethoven, too.)
I teach around the Bloor West Village area of Toronto, or anywhere in the west end or downtown that is accessible by subway. If you're looking for a piano teacher, please contact me!
I have around 7 years of piano teaching experience (ages 6-16) and a Master of Music degree from UWO as well as RCM ARCT equivalent training in piano. See below for further credentials:
